The Network Engineer – Telematics Validation role involves managing the remote connection of navigation software (SW) devices, also known as a device farm, for the North America branch. The main responsibilities include overseeing the daily operations of the device farm and handling new release software for the company’s vehicle software product and its contents.
In addition, the individual in this role will be responsible for planning and executing tests for navigation SW telematics protocols. This involves verifying the implementation of requirements and change lists for regular and irregular Navigation SW releases, including the Map DB. The validation process will assess both the functionality and performance aspects of the software. Furthermore, the individual will be responsible for ensuring software quality by constructing validation plans to detect software errors and evaluate the entire stack system software.
This individual will be the navigation SW for telematics contact point for Hyundai subsidiaries, as well as, suppliers and other potential partners especially contents.

In addition, the individual in this role will be responsible for planning and executing tests for navigation SW telematics protocols. This involves verifying the implementation of requirements and change lists for regular and irregular Navigation SW releases, including the Map DB. Essential Functions:
- Update System and navigation SW to latest version
- Operate device farm and all devices are connected in it (include trouble shooting)
- Create test automation UI and analyze result
- Analyze new specification to test navigation
- Execute navigation SW test cases at real car or in door device
- Reproduction evaluation for navigation SW VOC issues
- Understand the system and sub-system specification
- Communicate effectively with software design and validation teams to improve overall system performance
- Must be able to work flexible work hours
- Should possess excellent driving skills
- Must be willing to travel to domestic / international locations when needed to perform testing, investigate field issues, or attend conferences/meetings
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Geographic Information Science or related field
- Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point) is essential for creating test reports
- 2-5 years of experience in the automotive technology industry.
- Experience in telematics testing or a network-related field.
- Experience working with Automotive Tier 1 Suppliers.
- Experience working with large companies, preferably automotive and/or software manufacturers or contents suppliers.
- Experience in automotive testing, telematics, analyzing protocols, logs, generating test cases, and test reports.
- Comfortable with technical and business audiences.
- Bilingual in Korean is preferred.
- ISTQB/CCNA license holder preferred.

Work Environment:
The position will work indoors the majority of the time and will be exposed to typical temperature and noise levels maintained in an office environment.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will occasionally be required to stand, walk, sit, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application information.
